Sonic System for a Healthcare Experience

This project explores how sound can support wellbeing, reduce anxiety
and guide users through daily healthcare routines.

In medication and health management, interactions are frequent, personal, and often sensitive,
requiring a careful balance between clarity and emotional comfort.

The objective was to design a gentle and cohesive sonic ecosystem
that assists users without creating stress or urgency.

Challenge



Healthcare applications operate in a highly sensitive context,
where poorly designed notifications or alerts can create anxiety rather than support.

The challenge was to design a sonic language that encourages adherence and awareness
without feeling intrusive, alarming, or repetitive.

The system needed to feel calm, trustworthy, and supportive,
integrating naturally into users’ daily lives.

 


Approach

 

The sonic direction focuses on soft tonalities, slow envelopes, and minimal compositions
to create a sense of calm and reassurance.

Sounds were designed to gently guide attention rather than demand it,
avoiding sharp transients or aggressive frequencies.

A subtle tonal consistency was maintained across all elements,
allowing users to build familiarity and comfort over time.

The system prioritises emotional sensitivity as much as functional clarity.

The audio logo is designed as a soft and reassuring signature,
built to convey care and reliability.

Its gentle progression and warm tonal character reflect a sense of support
and continuity, rather than urgency or interruption.

Interaction sounds are designed to assist daily routines
such as medication reminders and provide clear but gentle feedback across the interface.

Each sound is intentionally calm and unobtrusive, encouraging action without
creating stress and supporting navigation without overwhelming the experience.

Subtle variations help distinguish between different types of reminders,
while maintaining a consistent emotional tone.

The brand film extends the sonic identity into a broader narrative
focused on care, trust, and human connection.

Through a restrained and emotionally driven soundtrack, it reinforces the role of the platform
as a quiet, reliable presence in everyday life.

Outcome
 

This project demonstrates how sonic design can play a meaningful role in healthcare
by supporting both functional needs and emotional wellbeing.

By reducing friction and anxiety through sound, the experience becomes
more approachable, consistent, and human-centered.

It highlights the importance of sensitivity and restraint
in designing for health-related contexts.



 

This is a conceptual project created to demonstrate a sonic branding approach.
